Seeking Nominations for Progressive Heroes
Know a grassroots progressive hero whose story could inspire others?
Author and organizer Glenn Hurowitz is seeking nominations for grassroots "progressive heroes" to be included in his forthcoming book Fear and Courage in the Democratic Party (and the Global Progressive Movement). The ideal nominee should be someone who fought a battle for a progressive goal (whether winning a local election, organizing a union, protecting the environment, or something else) and won in the face of both strong opposition and also reluctance or resistance from within his or her own community. Other chapter topics include Paul Wellstone and MoveOn.org. Nominations of women and people of color are especially encouraged.
Either comment below or send a brief email to glenn at dcourage dot com, preferably with your own contact information and that of the person you’re nominating, that names the person and gives a brief reason why you’re nominating them. The winning nominator will be acknowledged in the book (expected Fall, 2007).
